Australia’s largest EV-enabled building at Sierra Hawthorn in Melbourne.

Melbourne, Australia – 18 March 2026– NOX Energy and Federal Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen yesterday launched Australia’s largest EV-enabled building at Sierra Hawthorn in Melbourne.

The globally significant project comprises all 241 residential apartments and five commercial tenancies equipped with world-leading NOX Energy Intelligent Power Sockets (IPS) to support EV charging across the building.

“This project shows how innovative, low-cost charging solutions can unlock EV uptake for people who live in apartments, one of the biggest remaining barriers to widespread electric vehicle adoption.”Darren Miller, CEO at ARENA.

Why Eukai is highlighting this:

It signals two shifts. Electrification in apartment living. And the decoupling of car parking from housing.

More innovative and centralised parking is core to our advice. Solutions like this make that possible at scale, without major infrastructure upgrades. For more information, get in touch with Will Fooks.
